Stickers for reMarkable tablets

Stickers are common accents in physical journaling and scrapbooking, and they've become popular in the digital realm as well. On the Supernote, stickers are a first-class feature, but on the reMarkable, you've been out of luck to date.

A few different sticker workflows emerged from the reMarkable community over the years. There are custom .rmdoc notebook files you can buy on Etsy, or custom software hacks to get a native stickers menu.

Recently though, reMarkable dropped an update that makes a new approach possible. In version 3.28, we received the Capture tool, a surprisingly useful addition for duplicating image content in notebooks, PDFs, and EPUB files.

Adding stickers in notebooks and PDFs

With the Capture tool, you can copy any part of a regular document page as an image, and paste it at will. So as long as your document has the graphical elements you want to use as stickers, you can jump to a page with them, then duplicate them as you please. Here's the flow I found works best:

  • Select the Capture tool in the toolbar first
  • Tap the sticker icon to go to the sticker page
  • Copy the sticker you want to use
  • Use the button in the bottom right to jump to the previous page
  • Use your stylus to paste the sticker

Here's a video example:

The cool thing is that this is just a regular PDF file, so you can use the same flow with any PDF that has image content.

Tradeoffs with the Capture tool

There are, unfortunately, a few downsides to using the Capture tool for stickers, but I find them to be minor:

  • After pasting image content, it's no longer deletable. Just like a strong adhesive sticker, you're stuck with it! You can still draw over it with a white pen to hide it, though.
  • The Capture tool copies everything inside the lasso as an image, background included. If your selection isn't precise, you may get a white outline around your sticker. Not a big deal if you're pasting onto a white background.
  • In reMarkable's software, the "Back to page 123" and "Clear clipboard" buttons appear in the same spot in the bottom right corner. After copying with the Capture tool, you only have a few seconds before the "Clear clipboard" button obscures your way back to the original page. This is annoying at first, but once you get used to the jump-capture-jump-paste workflow, it's not a major issue.

Free reMarkable sticker sheet

I hope this gives you some ideas on how to use the new Capture tool to spice up your documents. If you like the sticker sheet in the video, it's available in two ways:

The first is in my planner, because (biased take) I think having stickers in the same document as your notes makes things simpler and quicker. I've just released free, fully functional planners for late 2026 with the sticker page included, for all reMarkable models.

If you'd rather skip the planner but still want the stickers, a single-page PDF sticker sheet is also free to download. You'll need to switch to a separate notebook or PDF to paste, which adds a bit of friction, but otherwise it works the same.

By the way, the emojis on these pages come from the Fluent emoji set, which I've always enjoyed for their whimsical, playful vibe. If there are any other patterns, emojis, or graphical elements you'd like to use as stickers, let me know!
